We are excited to announce a pivotal opportunity for an Application Engineer Specialist (ServiceNow) role to join our esteemed Orica GBS team on a hybrid working setup in our Manila office in Pasig City.
The Application Engineer Specialist (ServiceNow) will play a key role in managing, supporting, and enhancing Orica’s ServiceNow platform. This position involves close collaboration with the DevOps team and business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective solutions, maintain existing functionalities, implement new features, and ensure strong governance and sustainability of the platform.
The scope of the role spans across all ServiceNow modules used by Orica, including Now Assist (GenAI), ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, LSD, and App Engine.
The DevOps and Regional Applications teams oversee the management and continuous improvement of Orica’s workplace technologies.
- The DevOps team is responsible for the Power Platform, Identity services, external websites, intranet, IVR systems (Amazon Connect and Twilio), banking and finance applications, and the ServiceNow platform.
- The Regional Applications team manages approximately 500 non-global applications across Australia, the Philippines, Sweden, and Mexico.
Current ServiceNow applications include Now Assist (GenAI), ITSM, ITOM/AIOps, SPM, HRSD, Legal Service Delivery, Scoped Applications, Employee Center, and Virtual Agent.
What you will be doing
The role will be developing and supporting the ServiceNow platform across various business areas, working closely with stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions that enhance workplace efficiency. Your responsibilities will include maintaining platform stability, troubleshooting issues, and implementing new features that drive strategic adoption of ServiceNow. Strong communication and problem-solving skills will be essential as you collaborate across teams to ensure the platform continues to meet evolving business needs.
What you will bring
- English language (oral and written) to an advanced proficiency, as the global business language of Orica
- 4+ years' experience in an IT role; with demonstrated success at designing and supporting applications
- 3+ years' experience in a ServiceNow application environment
- Experience with multiple ServiceNow Applications while working in an ServiceNow Developer role. Ideally covering a combination of ITSM, ITOM/AiOps, SPM/ITBM, HRSD, Legal SD, and/or Scoped Applications
- Ability to understand and interpret complex business requirements and effectively translate into application solutions
- Demonstrated problem-solving and remediation skills
- Initiative to anticipate situations and problems and ability to advise on appropriate workarounds and solutions
- Self-motivated to seek out new work and opportunities to use and develop the ServiceNow platform
- Demonstrated experience of running the implementation of a new feature from requirement gathering to support
