About the role


Join our dynamic Manila team as an Analyst – Tax, Asia. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with the management of the tax affairs of the company's Asia Regional business. It will ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and company tax policies and procedures in the region. It will assist with strategic tax advice to the business, help implement the tax strategy in the region and assist in the management of all regional tax disputes.

What you will be doing

 

  • Ensure regional compliance with the company’s Tax Standard, Procedures, and Guidelines
  • Collaborate with the global tax team in Australia and regional team in Asia to develop and execute tax strategy for Asia, identifying and recommending tax planning opportunities and restructuring as needed.
  • Assist in managing tax audits, disputes and tax refund in the region, identifying risk areas and proactively addressing issues to mitigate risks.
  • Research and provide clear tax advice to the Tax Manager on structuring, acquisition, and divestment activities within the region.
  • Responsible for timely indirect and direct tax return lodgments and payments, while supporting transfer pricing documentation and strategy for cross-border transactions.
  • Support the Tax Manager in maintaining relationships with Revenue authorities, external advisors, and completing tax effect accounting.
  • Aid in monitoring the effective tax rate, tax losses, profit repatriation, tax-efficient structures, and implementing tax risk management strategies.
  • Stay updated on legislative changes in the region, manage their impact, and ensure proactive implementation of necessary adjustments.
  • Oversee compliance obligations, ensuring timely and accurate filings, coordinating internal and external stakeholders for effective tax compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement in tax compliance and reporting functions.

What you will bring

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Tax Law 
  • Proven track record of at least 5 years’ experience in the tax department of a large company, tax or financial management
  • Preferably CPA with Big 4 Accounting firm background
  • Previous tax reporting experience in a large multinational corporation
  • Strong communication skills and fluency in English
  • Self-motivated, results-driven and a team player 
  • Knowledge of SAP 4S Hana is an advantage
