About the role
We are excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a skilled Finance Analyst to join us as Analyst – Finance Business Partner Manufacturing. In this role, you will be a key financial partner to our Manufacturing division, supporting both continuous plants (ammonia/ammonium nitrate) and a discrete assembly plant, helping drive performance, accuracy, and informed decision-making across a complex and high‑value operational landscape.
This role is perfect for a finance professional with strong exposure to manufacturing environments, deep competency in month‑end processes, cost monitoring, and commercial analysis, and a passion for partnering with plant and functional leaders. You will thrive in a dynamic setting where attention to detail, business acumen, and collaborative problem‑solving are essential.
This position operates on a hybrid working model, based in our office.
What you will be doing
Plant Month-End & Operational Reporting
- Deliver accurate, on-time month-end results for the site, aligned to Group standards and reporting timelines.
- Prepare clear, practical performance reports for Plant Leadership, focusing on production costs, variances, and operational drivers.
- Support Finance Business Partners and act as a backup when required, ensuring continuity of site finance support.
- Prepare and contribute financial insight to the site Monthly Business Review.
Partner with Operations on Cost & Performance
- Work closely with production, maintenance, and site leaders to monitor and control fixed and variable costs.
- Review monthly costs including maintenance spend, headcount, salaries and wages, utilities, and stocktake results with cost centre owners.
- Identify key cost drivers (e.g. labour, maintenance, downtime, energy) and highlight opportunities to improve efficiency.
- Flag performance issues early and support corrective actions to keep the site on track.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning
- Support the development of site budgets and forecasts, ensuring assumptions reflect operational plans and constraints.
- Improve forecast accuracy by partnering with operations to understand volume, productivity, and cost drivers.
- Provide finance input that supports production planning and confident operational decision-making.
Capital & Continuous Improvement Projects
- Build and review financial models and business cases for site capital projects (e.g. equipment upgrades, reliability improvements, safety initiatives).
- Support investment decisions by clearly outlining costs, benefits, risks, and payback.
- Assist with cost-saving initiatives, productivity improvements, and continuous improvement projects.
What you will bring
- 5+ years post‑graduate experience in accounting or finance, ideally within manufacturing or mining.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or Business.
- Professional designation (or near completion): CA, CMA, CPA, or CIMA.
- Strong experience with SAP modules (FICO, PM, PPM, Supply), financial modeling in Excel, and Power BI.
- Solid understanding of accounting standards and strong analytical capability.
