About the role

We are excited to offer a great opportunity for an Accountant – Financial Controlling & Accounting to join our finance team in Manila, Philippines. This role plays a critical part in ensuring financial compliance, accuracy, and control across Orica’s AUSPAC (Australia, New Zealand, and PNG) businesses.

As a key finance team member, you will work closely with the AusPac Financial Controller, Business Partners, and Global Business Services (GBS) to oversee financial reporting, month-end close, and general ledger management. You will also manage banking and cash flow activities, ensure compliance with accounting standards and Orica policies, and support internal and external audits.

The role will be based on a hybrid setup in our Ortigas office.

What you will be doing

Financial Controlling & Reporting

  • Act as the key liaison with Global Business Services (GBS) to resolve finance-related issues.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end close and financial reporting.
  • Oversee general ledger management, reconciliations, and financial controls.
  • Ensure compliance with Orica’s accounting policies and standards.
  • Prepare and review external financial statements and audit documents.

Banking & Cash Management

  • Manage banking relationships and provide weekly cash forecasts for AUSPAC.
  • Complete Treasury Risk Management Plans (TRMPs) and Treasury Standard Compliance Reviews (TSCRs) for Australia, NZ, and PNG.

Compliance & Audit

  • Support internal and external audits, ensuring strong financial controls.
  • Oversee the bi-annual Balance Sheet review and Letter of Assurance.
  • Maintain robust intercompany accounting and reconciliation processes.

Financial Projects & Continuous Improvement

  • Support finance projects, cost-saving initiatives, and process improvements.
  • Provide finance support for ad hoc projects and business initiatives.

What you will bring

  • 5+ years of post-graduate experience in accounting or finance.
  • Professional designation (CA, CMA, CPA).
  • Experience in financial controlling and reporting within a large, global business.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and compliance.
  • Experience with S4 Hana (preferred) and other financial systems.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
