Role: Project & Operation Manager
Internal Position Title: Senior Engineer – Projects (33734)
Role Base: Colombia (Bogotá) or Guyana
Travel Percentage: 50 – 75% of the time

The Project & Operation Manager provides senior level engineering input into the planning and implementation of capital projects and plant turnarounds.
What you will be doing
• Provide mechanical engineering support on capital projects and existing plants and assets.
• Ensure statutory and regulatory asset compliance provided by the project team.
• Manage design resources. Drive business improvement (savings implementation, governance, and process).
• Provide regional engineering and capital expenditure support.
• Provide cost center management support.
• Ensure all designs produced comply with relevant regulatory and corporate standards.
• Ensure design requests are documented using the SAP work order system and supported by concept papers, scopes of work, and design reviews, as appropriate.
• Maximize the use of existing designs by ensuring component and concept design standardization for fixed plant and mobile equipment.
• Prepare design project estimates, as appropriate.
• Manage project design and design resources effectively.
• Seek improvements in customer outcomes by considering customer perspectives.
• Ensure work is appropriately defined so that design outcomes and processes meet customer expectations.
• Share technical and commercial knowledge with the global engineering group.
• Manage relationships with internal business units and external service providers for the timely implementation of cost-effective design solutions.
• Evaluate protection systems to ensure compliance with the Group's security objectives.
• Provide technical advice and assist, as agreed, in the investigation of significant incidents.
• Develop engineering standards that define tasks, operating parameters, protection requirements, installation practices, etc., for various applications.
What you will bring
• Mechanical or Civil Engineer, Mechanical Industrial Engineer, or a related field. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with a variety of processes.
• With 10 years of experience in the project area.
• Familiarity with financial principles and procedures.
• Experience subcontracting companies and managing services.
• Strong background in supplier management.
• Proven ability to oversee both in-house and third-party personnel.
• Effective leadership and communication skills in multicultural settings.
• Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong influence skills and a track record of achieving results.
• Capable of working independently and managing tasks autonomously.
• Flexible and adaptable, with the willingness to travel for extended periods.
• Proficient in the use of tools such as SAP, SF, Concur, analysis and visualization software, engineering applications, and more.
• Professional proficiency in advanced English.
