About the role
The Team Leader - Underground leads a team in the quality service of bulk explosive delivery to customers in a safe and environmentally conscious manner at all times, working closely with Bench Assistants and MMU Operators on site, Shotfirers and Site Supervisor and managing all tasks associated with loading, tying and firing blasts.
This role is based in Orica Didipio site.
What you will be doing

Work safely at all times, protecting yourself, co‑workers, customers, the public, and the environment while delivering services that meet required quality, volume, and customer expectations

Follow Orica’s Safety Charter, operating procedures, and standards, actively supporting a strong safety‑first culture aligned with company values

Report all incidents, near misses, and hazards immediately, and confidently speak up to challenge any unsafe work practices

Take part in daily toolbox talks, monthly safety meetings, and complete all required operational, SHEC, and site‑specific training

Maintain readiness and compliance by keeping personal training current, ensuring emergency equipment and first aid kits are complete, and supporting audit actions

Protect product quality and the environment through good housekeeping, waste minimisation, correct handling and storage of raw materials and dangerous goods, and reporting any product issues or variations

Support customer operations and teamwork by assisting clients in meeting production targets, maintaining professional working relationships, and performing other duties or site relief tasks within your competence as required
What you will bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering or related field

Leads and works well with others, building trust through integrity, strong personal values, and ethical behaviour

Operates safely and effectively in MCU operations, with strong product knowledge and required clearance authorisation

Demonstrates sound judgment, resilience, and adaptability, with the confidence to make decisions and openness to feedback
