About the role
The Operator - MCU assists with coordinating the production and delivery of activities at their respective plant ensuring that products are supplied to the customer in a timely and effective manner, that the operations runs effectively and smoothly with minimum labour and raw material costs and that here is good interaction with other departments of the organisation.
What you will be doing
- Comply with Orica’s Our Charter, safety standards, operating procedures, and site-specific requirements at all times, including participation in toolbox talks and safety meetings.
- Ensure the safe handling, storage, and use of raw materials and dangerous goods in line with SDS requirements, while minimizing environmental impact through effective waste control and management.
- Promptly report all incidents, near misses, and hazards, and actively support investigations and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Support customer operations by meeting daily loading, delivery, and service requirements, while maintaining product quality and assisting clients in achieving production targets.
- Maintain personal competency and equipment readiness by completing required training per the Orica training matrix, performing routine equipment checks, completing operational administration, and providing relief support at other locations as required.
What you will bring

High School Graduate or vocational course completer; experience in mining, construction, plant, or factory work is an advantage.

With valid driver’s license; experience driving trucks or operating heavy equipment is a plus.

Willing to learn and strictly follow safety rules, especially when handling explosives, chemicals, and dangerous goods.

Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors, on shifts, and in hands-on, repetitive tasks.

Reliable, safety‑minded, and willing to work as part of a team to meet daily production and delivery targets.
