About the role


We’re excited to invite applications for the position of Maintenance Supervisor, based in Porgera, Papua New Guinea.

This is a pivotal position responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of critical equipment across both open cut and underground mining operations. But it’s more than just a supervisory role, it’s an opportunity to lead a high-performing team, drive safety excellence, and make a tangible impact on operational success. 

This is a rostered position, working 24 days on / 18 days off, flying in and out of Cairns. Please note that additional travel time may be required depending on your location and point of hire. 

As the key point of contact for all maintenance activities, you’ll be responsible for planning, scheduling, and executing repairs, ensuring workshop compliance, and managing parts logistics. What you will be doing

 

  • Champion a culture of safety by leading by example, promoting proactive safety behaviours, and ensuring all team members understand and follow safety protocols.
  • Coordinate and prioritise daily workshop activities and field service operations, ensuring efficient use of resources and timely service delivery.
  • Manage Redbook compliance for workshop and in-field assets, ensuring all documentation and standards are maintained.
  • Perform inventory management for critical spares held at Porgera, ensuring availability and proper storage of essential parts.
  • Schedule and oversee equipment maintenance servicing and repairs, working closely with asset fitters to minimise downtime.
  • Engage with third-party maintenance providers to ensure high service quality outcomes and maintain strong vendor relationships.
  • Actively mentor and coach team members on safety best practices and foster a psychologically safe environment where concerns can be raised without fear.

What you will bring

Critical Experience and Qualifications

  • Engineering Certificate, Diploma, or Trade Certificate;
  • Experience in explosives plant engineering or maintenance;
  • Strong personal management and leadership skills;
  • Trainer and Assessor Certificate;
  • Qualified in Permit to Work, Confined Space Entry, Working at Heights & Breaking Ground;
  • Ability to obtain Security Clearance.
