About the role
We are excited to announce a new opportunity for a Human Resources Business Partner within our Orica North America team focused on proving exceptional business partnering and consistent functional excellence in facilitating the achievement of Orica's business goals and strategies in Mexico and the Dominican Republic. All while providing the execution of expert Human Resources, Employee Relations, and Industrial Relations coaching, advise and support.
Location: Monclova and Cuatro Cienegas. Must be able to be onsite for 3 days of the week.
What you will be doing
- Act as the designated Business Partner to assigned client groups within specific geographies or supporting functions
- Provide advice and support to line managers to assist them to resolve employee issues including performance management and discipline
- Human Resources policy implementation at a local level
- Partner with global Human Resources transactional and advisory teams to support needs of client groups and business requirements
- Planning, advice, and response to emerging issues or execution of strategic projects or initiatives
- Coaching managers and employees on wide range of topics to include employee development, managing challenging situations/relationships, etc.
- Conduct investigations ensuring confidentiality and anonymity of all individuals (internal and external)
- Implementation of global and regional strategic initiatives at local level
- Active engagement and management of local collective agreements in assigned geography, including oversight of grievance, mediation, and negotiation activities as mandated
- Partner with the Centers of Excellence and other supporting functional groups to deliver specialist services, manage relationships, ensure awareness and understanding of statutory and internal policy requirements, and verify delivery against agreed standards of service
Your qualifications
- 10+ years’ experience in a similar role
- Relevant bachelors/tertiary degree in business, human resources, industrial relations, or other related studies
- Required to be fully bi-lingual in Spanish and English
- Strong communication, negotiation, collaboration and influencing skills
- Working knowledge of relevant employment legislation and requirements
- Change management skills
- Strong administration and organization skills

- Ability to work autonomously and as a virtual team member
