About the role

We’re excited to offer a unique opportunity for a Senior Manager - Nitrogen Strategy & Sourcing to join our global team. Based in Dubai, this role sits at the heart of shaping Orica’s long-term Ammonium Nitrate (AN) strategy and securing the future of our global supply network. We are open to considering other locations where Orica has an established presence. 

 

In this role, you’ll play a critical part in driving strategic sourcing decisions, building high-impact partnerships, and unlocking new commercial opportunities across key global regions. You’ll work closely with senior leaders and regional teams to optimise supply resilience, manage evolving market dynamics, and embed sustainability into our sourcing strategy.

 

This is a highly visible, strategic role where you’ll influence global outcomes, contribute to Orica’s sustainability ambitions, and help shape the future of a critical supply chain in a rapidly evolving industry.

What you will be doing

Strategic Sourcing & Commercial Strategy

  • Support the development and refinement of Orica’s global sourcing strategy for Ammonium Nitrate (AN) partnerships, aligned with business and sustainability priorities.
  • Provide strategic analysis and recommendations on major contracts and commercial strategies across key regions including LATAM, EMEA, and North America.
  • Contribute to long-term supply security and network optimisation through informed sourcing decisions. 

 

Market Intelligence & Opportunity Development

  • Identify, evaluate, and develop new sourcing opportunities, including partnership and equity options to enhance quality, reliability, and cost performance.
  • Monitor market developments, geopolitical influences, and emerging trends to inform sourcing strategies and mitigate supply risks. 

 

Stakeholder Engagement & Governance

  • Coordinate activities of the Nitrogen Council to ensure alignment and progress against global priorities. 
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships to support decision-making, resolve challenges, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Partner with senior leaders and regional business units to deliver on strategic objectives.

 

Sustainability & Performance Delivery

  • Support delivery of Orica’s Scope 3 emissions reduction roadmap by integrating sustainability considerations into sourcing evaluations.
  • Contribute to key performance outcomes including supply resilience, cost optimisation, and reliability across global operations.

What you will bring

  • Significant experience (10+ years) in business development, trading, or strategy within the commodities or energy sector.
  • Strong expertise in Nitrogen and/or Nitrates markets, or adjacent commodity trading environments.
  • Degree in Engineering (Chemical or similar) and/or Business (MBA or equivalent).
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic sourcing or commercial strategies.
  • Highly developed stakeholder management and influencing capabilities at a senior level.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex market and commercial data.
