About the role
Join Orica as a Officer – Payroll ANZ (Temporary Role), based in Melbourne, and play a key part in supporting our employees across Australia and New Zealand. You’ll be part of a collaborative team, ensuring payroll processes run smoothly and in line with both Orica’s standards and legislative requirements.
What you will be doing
- Providing customer-facing support and managing stakeholder relationships
- Analysing legislation and delivering accurate, relevant payroll advice
- Participating in payroll-related projects
- Administering offline payroll data and processes
- Advising on leave management and ensuring compliance
- Managing Service Now queries related to payroll
- Conducting payroll GL reconciliations and processing invoices
- Executing payroll input and managing external service providers
- Administering region/country-specific benefits
- Executing end-of-year payroll processes and reporting
- Delivering regular and ad hoc payroll reports
- Supporting compliance with legislation and reporting requirements
What you will bring
- 5+ years’ experience in payroll, ideally within Australia or New Zealand
- Strong understanding of HR/payroll policies, procedures, enterprise agreements, and relevant legislation
- Solid knowledge of payroll systems (Ramco, Dayforce, SAP, SuccessFactors, or similar)
- Intermediate Excel skills and strong analytical abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of numeracy and literacy
- Ability to prioritise, multi-task, and work independently
- A collaborative, team-oriented approach and a commitment to supporting others’ success
- Professionalism, punctuality, and adaptability in a dynamic environment
