About the role

 

The Trades-Mechanic role involves performing routine inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of plant machinery, equipment, and automotive systems, including installation and modification of new systems, ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to safety standards.

 

This role will report to our Masbate site.

What you will be doing

 

Maintenance of Plant Machinery and Facilities

1. Performs routine inspection of plant machinery and equipment in the plant.

2. Performs troubleshooting, repair, overhauling or replacement of defective or worn-out parts of an equipment such as but not limited to, pumps, air compressors, boiler, and ICE powered equipment.

3. Installs, repairs, replaces piping and fittings for oil, water, compressed air systems of equipment.

4. Install new equipment and systems. Modification of systems as needed by the plant as directed by operations lead.

 

 Automotive Maintenance

1. Performs routine inspection of Fleet Vehicles (Mobile Manufacturing Units and 4 Wheeled light vehicles).

2. Troubleshoot and repair engine, transmission, brake, steering, cooling, and other automotive systems.

3. Troubleshoot and repair automotive ancillaries such as compressed air and hydraulic systems.

What you will bring

 

  • Graduate of a technical course specializing in mechanical trade (e.g., mechanical technology, automotive servicing) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as an auto or plant mechanic.

  • Strong work ethics with a focus on safety, effective verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work on a shifting schedule with a willingness to be trained and rotated to different assignments.

  • Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, with the ability to read and interpret instructional manuals and basic schematics.

  • Skilled in shop fabrication work for metal and wood, with NC II certification in welding considered an advantage.

  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, reliable work, while effectively managing minor incidents and supporting project management efforts.
