About the role
We’re looking for a dedicated Shotfirer – Open Cut to join our team at the Masbate site. In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering bulk explosives safely and efficiently to support mining operations. You’ll work closely with Bench Assistants and MMU Operators to manage all activities related to loading, tying, and firing blasts—ensuring every step is carried out with precision, safety, and environmental care.

What you will be doing
- Report all unusual incidents, accidents, and product issues immediately.
- Join daily toolbox talks, monthly safety meetings, and complete required training.
- Keep personal training records updated based on the Orica Training Matrix.
- Ensure emergency equipment, First Aid kits, and housekeeping standards are maintained.
- Support audits and help close out any action items.
- Handle raw materials and dangerous goods safely, following SDS guidelines.
- Assist clients in meeting production targets while minimizing environmental impact.
What you will bring
- Shotfirer’s license and knowledge of handling dangerous goods
- Experience in mining or heavy industry and strong product knowledge
- Mechanical, auto electrical, and hydraulic aptitude
- Knowledge of safety procedures like lock out/tag out and permit to work
- Valid driver’s license and completion of mining safety inductions (e.g., S1, S2, S3)
