About the role

 

Operator – Mobile Manufacturing Unit (MMU) This role offers a unique opportunity to build a career in bulk explosive delivery operations. As an Operator, you'll gain hands-on experience across all aspects of MMU tasks—ranging from equipment handling to on-bench activities—under the close guidance of experienced mentors.

 

The role is designed to provide structured, competency-based training, ensuring you develop the technical skills, safety awareness, and operational confidence needed for future independence. The successful MMU Operator will be based in Aroroy, Masbate.

What you will be doing

 

  • Ensure the safe and compliant use, handling, and storage of raw materials and dangerous goods in accordance with Safety Data Sheet (SDS) requirements.  
  • Minimize environmental impact through proactive waste management and control practices.  
  • Immediately report any unusual incidents or accidents to ensure timely investigation and resolution.  
  • Actively participate in daily Toolbox Talks and monthly Safety Meetings to promote a strong safety culture.  
  • Maintain personal training and competency in alignment with Orica’s Training Matrix for the designated role.  
  • Perform ancillary duties, including relief work at alternate locations, as directed and in line with demonstrated competence.  
  • Support the client in achieving operational targets and maintaining consistent production levels.  
  • Promptly notify Orica site management of any deviations in product specifications, appearance, or performance.

What you will bring

 

  • Foundational Knowledge & Experience - Bachelor's degree or undergraduate with prior experience in mining, construction, or heavy machinery operation preferred. Familiarity with handling hazardous materials is an advantage.
  • Technical Competency & Equipment Operation - Preferably an experienced MMU Operator; ability to safely operate and maintain Mobile Manufacturing Units and related explosives delivery equipment. Comfortable working in outdoor, high-pressure environments.
  • Safety & Compliance Awareness - understanding of SHE (Safety, Health, Environment) protocols. Committed to following Orica’s Safe Operating Procedures and regulatory standards.
  • Communication & Teamwork - effective verbal and written communication skills. Willingness to participate in Toolbox talks and work collaboratively with site personnel and supervisors.
  • Training & Continuous Learning - willing to undergo structured training aligned with Orica’s competency matrix. Demonstrates initiative and reliability in completing tasks under supervision until certified competent.Foundational Knowledge & Experience
