Our new role as the Business Development Representative in the Mining & Energy Sectors in Canada for Orica Digital Solutions is an opportunity to work as part of a platform offering IOT and Software solutions and is expected to advance into global growth.

 

We are searching for an experienced Business Development Representative to service our Mining and Energy markets in Canada, pursuing new customers in Canada to grow our sales in this market. The role will also work with our inside sales team to manage existing accounts which include major oil sands operators, global leaders in mining, and Geotechnical Consulting companies who influence monitoring specifications and buying decisions.

 

This position will be supported by our inside sales staff, sales coordinators, and technical applications team to enable the sale and promotion of fully integrated monitoring solutions for our customers.

 

Orica Digital Solutions is a comprehensive platform of geotechnical, structural and geospatial monitoring technology, along with purpose-built data delivery solutions. Our brands include RST Instruments Ltd., Measurand, 3vGeomatics, and Syscom Instruments.  

 

Our monitoring technology can measure areas of interest at scale, from high-production mine sites to entire networks, such as railways, highways, and pipelines with a combination of geospatial, ground-based, and structural-based instrumentation. Our platform is also used to measure movement in airports, bridges, water dams, tailings dams, mines, and tunnels.

What you will be doing

 

  • Focus on developing and maintaining relationships with owners and engineering firms in the mining sector in Canada
  • Collaborate with technical team members to determine technical requirements and consideration.
  • Work in collaboration with inside sales team to create quotes and orders, coordinate with production team and shipping team to ensure our customers have a positive and seamless experience
  • Qualify incoming calls to prospect for further sales opportunities. 
  • Travelling to project sites or major business centers in Canada to build and maintain relationships with key customers.
  • Use of Salesforce CRM for recording customer transactions, correspondence, and future opportunities pipeline. 
  • Use of EPICOR ERP System to create and configure quotes and orders
  • Work within framework of our quality management system ISO 9001
  • Travel frequently to mine sites to understand customer challenges and instrument installations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with the engineering consultants who advise the mine sites. 
  • Use sales skills and technical knowledge to differentiate Terra Insights from competition and offer optimal solutions to the customer.
  • Become technically proficient in company product offering for the mining market sector to allow for technical customer meetings to occur

•    This position will visit supplier and customer sites in the field requiring at least 30% travel throughout Canada.

 

 

Your qualifications

 

•    Minimum of 5 years’ experience in technical sales related to the mining industry
•    Degree in Mining Engineering or Diploma in Mining Technology would be an asset

Compensation  

 

•    Salary Range:  $94,650 to $115,000 CAD
•    Commercial incentive plan of 20% OTE annually

 

(Salary to be determined by the applicant’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
