About The Role – Project Accountant  (Maple Ridge BC)

We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Project Accountant with the Orica Digital Solutions team in Maple Ridge BC. This position will be responsible for leading various complex financial projects including software transitions for US and Canada.

What you will be doing

•    The Project Accountant will be responsible for leading various complex financial projects. These projects will require a good understanding of IFRS accounting standards along with manufacturing accounting. 
•    Leading projects will require creating, monitoring and organizing project plans for the various finance projects. Frequent reporting to management will be needed on the KPIs, timelines and roadblocks with all on-going projects.
•    Taking the lead on transitioning companies from one ERP to another in a timely manner and ensuring accuracy remains.
•    Managing US sales tax reporting and filing for all companies using a third party software.
•    Work with the Assistant Controller to improve the finance and accounting function such as reviewing current processes, creating an SOP and doing process engineering to create more efficient and effective processes that work with the team and systems we have. There will be a opportunity here to identify issues and come up with creative solutions to resolve them.
•    Support collection and payables processes. Support on transitioning AP to have more electronic filings and payments. 
•    Managing compliance and audit engagements. This will require working with third parties to ensure the engagements are planned and organized well, executed efficiently and completed on time. This will require good communication with all stakeholders involved. 
•    Other duties as assigned by the manager. 

What you will bring

•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills · Strong Organization and attention to detail skills · Experience in a manufacturing environment using standard costing .
•    Experience in Construction or project accounting using percentage of completion revenue/cost recognition considered an asset
•    Experience developing and implementing Systems, processes and Procedures · Experience defining and writing financial reports and queries · Project management experience.
•    Strong organizational and attention to detail required for handling multiple projects

Role dimensions

•    Location:  Maple Ridge BC
•    Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 3 days in office/2 days remote

Your qualifications

•    CPA with a minimum 4-6 years’ of relevant experience with IFRS reporting standard 
•    Experience with Epicor ERP, Microsoft Dynamics ERP, Tax compliance (Avalara) considered an asset, with ERP implementation experience highly desired.

Compensation 
•    Full Time Salary 
•    $80,000 - $97,500 CAD
(Salary to be determined by the applicant’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
