About the role - Mechanical Engineer (Maple Ridge BC)

 

This position is open to recent graduates in the area of Mechanical Engineering who want to launch their careers in an innovative industry.

 

We are excited to announce a new opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer, reporting to our Custom Product Engineering Manager, within our Digital Solutions team, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate  leadership and technical expertise in the areas of design and development, offer support for our entire product portfolio of world class geotechnical products. 


You will work with cross-functional product development teams, as well as Orica Digital Canada Sales, Marketing, and Manufacturing divisions. Your success will be underscored by your technical intuition and inquisitive nature, quality prioritization, team collaboration skills, and open and approachable communication style.

What you will be doing

 

•    Design mechanical parts and assemblies in Solidworks.
•    Produce actionable drawings and documents for vendors and outsourcing.
•    Technical support of Sales and Operations inquiries.
•    Technical support towards cross-functional product development teams; research and design projects, sustaining projects, etc.
•    Technical inputs and updates for current and legacy designs to keep with current standards.

 

What you will bring

 

 

•    1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
•    2+ years of CAD modelling experience with Solidworks and/or AutoCAD
•    Strong communication skills and very personable

 

 

Role dimensions

 

 

•    Reports to our Custom Product Engineering Manager
•    Work Schedule: Monday – Friday in office

 

 

Your qualifications

 

•    Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
•    Registration, or eligibility to register, as a professional engineer (P.Eng.) in BC, or registration as an engineer-in-training (EIT) is required

Compensation 

 

•    Salary Range $80,000 - $86,000 CAD
•    Eligible for annual short-term incentive plan

 

 

(Salary to be determined by the applicant’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
