About The Role – Manufacturing Engineer (Maple Ridge BC)

As the Manufacturing Engineer, you will have the opportunity to provide technical expertise in the manufacturing process development and improvement of all products manufactured at RST. 

This position works with Production Control, Production, Sales, Quality and Design Engineering to ensure manufacturing processes at R.S.T. are used to make geotechnical instruments optimized to assure safety, quality, and cost efficiency. Your success will be determined by your level of hands-on approach, technical intuition, inquisitiveness, safety, quality, prioritization, teamwork, and effective communication.  

What you will be doing

  • Design processes and provide technical support to production team on assembly of products
  • Emphasis on Safety and Quality when designing and defining processes.
  • Create production documentation (WI, PFD, Control plan etc) for manufacturing processes
  • Strong problem-solving skills with hands on approach to technical support
  • Bill of Materials updates in ERP system
  • Process and material flow definition
  • Production support on the floor as needed
  • Plant floor layout updates 
  • ECO/DCO implementation
  • Lead efforts in improving manufacturing KPIs
  • Functional area ownership of lean and continuous improvements
  • Driving continuous improvement by utilizing data derived from shop floor
  • Other duties assigned by management

What you will bring

  • 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing / electronics assembly processes
  • Team oriented and Collaborative
  • Internal/External Customer focused
  • Clear communicator

 

Skills that can be an additional asset

  • Lean Manufacturing experience specifically waste reduction
  • CAD- SolidWorks, Auto CAD
  • Designing tools/ jigs and fixtures

Your qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering: Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electronics, Electrical, and/or Mechatronics 
  • Professional engineering designation required

Compensation
Full Time Salary position
$70,000 – $85,000 CAD depending on experience

(Salary to be determined by the applicant’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
