About the role

 

We are currently seeking applications for an experienced Field Service Specialist - Ammonia to join our team based in Moree.

This role is ideally suited to a trade-qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic who enjoys working autonomously, solving complex technical problems, and delivering high-quality maintenance outcomes in the field.

As a Field Service Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of Orica's ammonia transport, storage, and delivery assets. You will execute preventative and corrective maintenance activities, diagnose equipment faults, perform inspections and repairs, and provide technical support to operational teams and customers.

Working on an 8 days on / 6 days off roster, you will play a critical role in ensuring our ammonia assets remain safe, compliant, and available to support operations across the region.

What you will be doing

 

  • To maintain ammonia trailers, storage facilities, pumps, and related equipment;
  • Complete planned and breakdown maintenance activities;
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults;
  • You will conduct inspections, servicing, and preventative maintenance;
  • Support safe, reliable operation of Orica's Precision Ammonia assets.
  • You will train and support customers in the safe use of ammonia equipment;
  • To assist with commissioning, testing, and equipment improvements;
  • Maintain maintenance records and promote a strong safety culture.

 

What you will bring

 

  • A Heavy Vehicle Mechanic trade qualification (mandatory);
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic;
  • Strong fault-finding skills across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems;
  • An experience with heavy vehicles, tankers, trailers, transport equipment, or mobile plant;
  • Proficiency with maintenance and work order systems;
  • The ability to work independently and manage priorities;
  • Strong communication skills, accountability, and commitment to safety;
  • Experience with dangerous goods, pressure equipment, bulk transport assets, agricultural equipment, or ammonia systems will be highly regarded.
