About the role
The Lead Engineering & Assets is responsible for leading the regional asset strategy and providing first-level specialist support for mobile fleet, equipment, and plant. The role ensures the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery, allocation, and performance of assets to support sustainable revenue generation across the region.
This position provides engineering governance, regulatory compliance, and operational assurance for assets delivered by the Operations Services team. Working closely with regional and global stakeholders, the role drives continuous improvement in asset reliability, maintenance effectiveness, and capital sustenance planning.
What you will be doing
• Lead regional asset strategy to deliver cost savings, governance improvements, and process optimisation.
• Provide engineering, asset, and capability governance across the region.
• Manage the delivery of regional engineering support services.
• Ensure all assets meet regulatory and statutory compliance requirements prior to mobilisation.
• Maintain the regional Asset Sustenance Plan, including capital expenditure requirements.
• Manage and drive the asset reliability continuous improvement pipeline to improve equipment performance across the region.
• Drive compliance with maintenance management plans for all assets.
• Mentor and guide the regional Maintenance Master Data team.
• Ensure maintenance master data is current and complete, including task lists, and equipment bills of materials.
• Maintain the Responsible Engineer function within the region.
• Act as Management of Change (MOC) Approver, ensuring compliance with MOC requirements.
• Manage the engineering cost estimation process for capital projects.
What you will bring
• Tertiary qualification in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Postgraduate qualifications in frontline or operational management (desirable).
• Approximately 10 years’ experience in operations management within a manufacturing or technical environment.
• Proven experience leading medium-sized operational or technical teams.
• Demonstrated capability in engineering and asset management within complex operational environments.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive SHES (Safety, Health, Environment and Security) performance and culture.
• Strong people management capability, with the ability to hold others accountable.
• Sound decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Collaborative working style with strong influencing and stakeholder management skills.
• Results-oriented mindset with the ability to think strategically and execute effectively.
• High level of interpersonal awareness and communication skills.
