About the role

At Orica, we're seeking a dynamic Superintendent – Maintenance to lead our regional maintenance management execution. This pivotal role includes overseeing strategic maintenance, reliability engineering, spares management, and systems across the region/site.

As the Superintendent – Maintenance, you will provide functional leadership to ensure our equipment is fit for purpose and delivers the lowest total ownership cost throughout its lifecycle. Your efforts will be critical in enhancing overall equipment availability, contributing to the operational success of Orica.

This role will report in our Limay, Bataan Manufacturing Site.

What you will be doing

• Ensure safety, health, and environmental procedures are adhered to by all Maintenance Team members; collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize maintenance-related tasks based on safety, environmental, quality, and operational continuity considerations.
• Execute the daily maintenance plan and respond to breakdowns to maintain production continuity, while seeking technical support from Technical and Maintenance Engineering teams as needed.
• Develop and implement asset strategies, including equipment hierarchy, condition monitoring, and spare parts management, to enhance equipment reliability and ensure resource availability for daily maintenance activities.
• Oversee maintenance budget development and execution, implement continuous improvement initiatives, and manage plant turn-arounds, ensuring high-quality work that meets the standards provided by the Maintenance Engineering team.
• Maintain comprehensive reporting post-work completion, conduct regular inspections, manage overtime approvals, and ensure a qualified and trained maintenance team is in place; participate in the Maintenance Superintendents Community of Practice to collaborate on best practices.

What you will bring

• Registered Mechanical Engineer with a valid license.
• 5+ years of experience as a maintenance superintendent or in a similar role within the manufacturing industry or a comparable setting.
• Proficient in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Autonomous Maintenance methodologies.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and determine necessary actions.
• Solid understanding of budgeting and performance management principles.
• Knowledge of Pumps, Compressors, Boilers, and HVAC systems is a plus.
