About the role
Orica is a global leader in mining services and explosives and is proud to be supporting the growth of mining operations across Papua New Guinea. We have developed the world’s first through the earth wireless blasting technology, WebGen™, and we are expanding its use across our customer mine sites in PNG and the Pacific.
Due to this growth, we have multiple upcoming positions for Wireless Blast Technicians, with a strong focus on local PNG hiring.
These are hands on, site-based roles, where you will work closely with mine site teams to safely deliver blasting services. You will represent Orica on site and play an important role in supporting safe production and adoption of new technology.
• Full training will be provided, including BlastIQ™ and WebGen™ systems
• PNG nationals are strongly encouraged to apply

What you will be doing
As part of Orica’s Technical Services team, your key responsibilities will include:
- Work in open cut and/or underground mining operations.
- Prepare, set up, and execute blasting activities using WebGen™ technology.
- Provide on‑site technical and product support to customers.
- Work closely with Orica Technical Services and mine site teams.
- Maintain strict compliance with safety, site, and PNG regulatory requirements.
- Support safety initiatives aligned with Orica and customer values.
What you will bring
- Current and valid Driver’s Licence (PNG recognised);
- Engineering graduate (Mining, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or related) preferred, OR;
- Strong computer and literacy skills with the ability to learn new digital systems;
- Willing to work on mine sites, including remote locations and rostered work;
- Good communication skills and strong team mindset;
- Experience with Orica EBS systems is an advantage but not required.
