About the role


We’re pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced HcD Technician to join our Mining Services team within the East Coast Metals division, servicing sites across Northwest Queensland and Papua New Guinea. This is a full-time, rostered position.

Our Hypercharge™ units are advanced systems designed to load blast holes with explosive chemicals. As an HcD Technician, you’ll be part of a highly skilled team responsible for maintaining and ensuring the reliability of these charge-up systems.

What you will be doing

 

  • Maintain and repair both fixed and mobile equipment across various sites.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems related to plant operations.
  • Support operational reliability and safety standards.

What you will bring

 

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience maintaining mobile and fixed plant equipment;
  • Familiarity with Orica systems and processes (preferred);
  • Proven ability to lead and train small teams (preferred);
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Solid understanding of operational best practices and regulatory standards;
  • Mining industry experience (preferred);
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
  • Willingness to travel across Queensland and/or PNG;
  • Demonstrated expertise in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
