About the role
We’re thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for experienced Charge Up Operators to join our Mining Services team within the East Coast Metals division, servicing sites across Northwest Queensland and Papua New Guinea. This is a full-time, rostered position.
As a Hypercharge™ Technician, you’ll be part of a highly skilled team operating our advanced Hypercharge™ units—cutting-edge machines designed to load blast holes with explosive chemicals. Your role will involve operating, maintaining, and charging blast holes using the Hypercharge unit (HcD).
What you will be doing
- Operate and maintain HcD units across various underground sites.
- Charge blast holes with precision and safety.
- Mentor team members in both uphole and downhole loading techniques.
What you will bring
- Minimum 3 years’ underground experience in blast hole charging;
- Proven expertise in both uphole and downhole charging operations (essential);
- Familiarity with Orica systems and processes (preferred);
- Demonstrated ability to lead and train small teams (preferred);
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Solid understanding of operational best practices and regulatory standards;
- Mining industry experience (preferred);
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
- Willingness to travel across Queensland and/or PNG;
- Mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting skills (preferred).
