Multiple Opportunities

We’re thrilled to offer multiple positions within our East Coast Metals division, supporting open-cut and underground mining sites across Papua New Guinea. These are full-time FIFO roles to various PNG locations.

Our operations in PNG are growing rapidly, and we’re expanding our Blasting workforce. Immediate openings and future opportunities are available for:

• Blast Crew Operator - Work as part of a team to safely load explosives into pre-drilled blast holes. You’ll provide hands-on support and learn to operate specialized equipment like Orica’s Mobile Manufacturing Unit (MMU). Full training and career development provided. 
  
  
• Blast Truck Operator - Operate advanced blasting vehicles (MMU/MCU) after training, while assisting the team with explosive delivery at mine sites. 
  
  
• Shotfirer - Lead and guide the Blast Crew in loading, tying, and firing large shots. Your expertise ensures safe and efficient blasting operations.
  
  
• Manufacturing Plant Operator - Play a vital role in running our plant safely and efficiently to meet production goals while maintaining top safety and environmental standards.
  
  
• Hypercharge™ (HcD) Technician - Join a skilled team operating our advanced Hypercharge™ units, state-of-the-art machines for loading blast holes with explosive chemicals. You’ll operate, maintain, and charge blast holes using this cutting-edge technology.

What you will bring

• Strong knowledge of explosives, storage rules, and blasting procedures.
• Valid Shotfirer’s Licence and Explosives Security Clearance.
• Current HR licence.
• At least 3 years of underground blasting experience, including uphole and downhole charging.
• Able to work independently and travel across PNG.
• Good communication skills and understanding of safety and regulations.
  
  Nice to Have
• Experience with Orica systems.
• Ability to lead and train small teams.
• Basic mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Mining industry experience.
