About the role
As a Technical Support Engineer, you will provide expert technical support to Customers and internal teams, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of industry-leading blasting systems. You will be involved in product development, testing, troubleshooting, and training, making a direct impact on operational excellence.
This is a WebGen wireless technology based role. The WebGen™ system completely eliminates the need for down-lines and surface connecting wires, communicates through rock, air and water to initiate blasts reliably and safely, removing people from harm’s way.
You will be working on-site at our Kurri Kurri Technical Centre when not required in the field.
What you will be doing
- Delivering technical support for blasting systems, assisting with troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Supporting the development, testing, and commercialisation of new products, including lab simulations and field testing.
- Providing hands on technical/repair support and related field testing in all environments and weather conditions.
- Assisting with product validation, supplier qualification, and technical documentation.
- Providing specialist training on field equipment and operational procedures.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring product and process safety, efficiency, and reliability.
- Collaborating closely with global teams, occasionally traveling to remote mining locations.
What you will bring
- Tertiary qualifications and/or 3+ years industry experience in electronics, microelectronics, mechatronics, or communication technology.
- Previous WebGen experience would be highly regarded.
- Strong understanding of digital and analog electronic circuitry and ability to read schematics.
- Experience in field maintenance, equipment support, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of mechanical component testing, environmental testing, and risk assessment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD/SolidWorks, and safety standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured approach to fault finding.
- Ability to prioritise and contribute to multiple projects effectively.
- Excellent team collaboration and customer engagement skills.
