About the role
The Senior Site Supervisor plays a key leadership role in managing onsite Orica teams and partnering closely with the Territory Manager to drive safe, efficient, and reliable daily operations. This role offers the opportunity to strengthen customer relationships, support operational excellence, and contribute to the development of innovative service solutions at site level.
As a site leader onsite, you will guide and develop your team, ensure a safe and well‑run operation, and actively identify opportunities to improve performance, efficiency, and service delivery. You’ll take accountability for site outcomes by managing resources and costs effectively while consistently applying Orica’s operational, safety, and compliance standards.
This position is based at Oyu Tolgoi, offering a rewarding challenge for experienced Orica leaders ready to expand their impact, influence site success, and play a critical role in supporting one of our most significant operations.
What you will be doing
- Provide analytical and decision support to the Sprint Lead, driving continuous improvement initiatives to reduce operating costs and improve site performance
- Lead site planning and cost control by contributing to short, medium, and long‑term plans, meeting fixed cost budgets, and supporting capital, resourcing, and equipment requirements
- Ensure full compliance with safety, regulatory, and corporate requirements through regular audits, inspections, safety meetings, inventory counts, Letters of Assurance, and completion of all actions in required systems
- Lead, develop, and supervise employees by managing training plans, ensuring mandatory training is completed and documented, and motivating teams to perform safely and effectively
- Maintain strong operational discipline through effective housekeeping, accurate record‑keeping, preventative maintenance programs, and compliant inventory and raw material management
- Optimize site profitability by analysing and managing inventories, improving stock rotation, and minimizing excess product and waste
- Coordinate daily site operations and customer delivery by scheduling work, ordering materials, addressing operational issues with the Sprint Lead, and leading regulatory audits and improvement actions
What you will bring

Extensive underground expertise, with at least 10 years of accumulated experience across underground operations, mine planning, engineering, and drill & blast

Proven leader of people, with a strong track record in leading, developing, and motivating diverse operational teams

International exposure preferred, including expat or overseas assignments, with the ability to work effectively in culturally diverse environments

Comfortable engaging with global stakeholders, collaborating confidently with expats, customers, and cross‑functional partners

Strong communicator, demonstrating clear, confident oral and written communication across operational, technical, and leadership settings
