About the role

 
We are thrilled to announce that Orica Kalgoorlie is expanding! Our business is thriving, and we are looking to increase our workforce in our Explosives Reserves Plant. We are seeking Trainee Manufacturing Plant Operators to join our friendly and supportive team.

As a Trainee Manufacturing Plant Operator, you will operate both fixed and mobile plant machinery to produce chemicals and packages used in the blasting process for mining, quarrying, and infrastructure projects.

It is important to note that we do not necessarily need people with experience in manufacturing plant environments. We are looking for people with energy, drive, enthusiasm and that share the same values as we do here at Orica. We will provide extensive training for the successful candidates, and all the tools needed to spark a brand new career with a truly global market-leading company. 

Salary & Roster:

The starting salary for Trainee Manufacturing Plant Operators ranges from $90,000 to $100,000 per annum, with potential increases as you gain experience. We offer a variety of roster options, including the standard Monday to Friday schedule and an 8 days on, 6 days off rotation.

What you will be doing

 

  • Safely and efficiently operating equipment, plant and machinery inside our manufacturing plant (full training provided);
  • Assisting with plant maintenance tasks when required.
  • Performing some labor-intensive duties relating to production;
  • Working tightly with a supportive and inclusive team.

What you will bring

  • A positive friendly attitude and a willingness to learn;
  • Some manual handling working experience;
  • Current C Class driving license;
  • Ability to pass all relevant security & police checks;
  • Commitment to working with safety as a priority. 
  • Forklift license;
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment (desirable).
