About the role
Start a brand-new, exciting career as a Trainee Manufacturing Plant Operator with Orica, where safety, teamwork, and respect for the land and communities we work within are at the heart of everything we do.
This is a residential role based in Kalgoorlie, Monday to Friday, with very reasonable and social hours – not FIFO. You’ll join a supportive team and learn to operate plant and machinery that produces chemicals and packages used in blasting for mining, quarrying, and infrastructure projects.
No prior experience? That’s okay. We’re looking for people with energy, drive, and enthusiasm who want to learn. Full training and all the tools you need to succeed will be provided.
What you will be doing
• Safely operate Orica’s manufacturing plant and equipment (training provided).
• Assist with plant maintenance tasks when required.
• Perform some hands-on, physical duties related to production.
• Work closely with a skilled and inclusive team.

What you will bring
• A positive, team-focused attitude – looking out for your mates.
• Willingness to learn and take on new skills.
• Ability to pass a national police clearance and security checks.
• Current C Class driver’s licence.
• Forklift licence (desirable, not essential).
• Experience in a manufacturing environment (desirable).
Salary & Roster
Starting salary ranges from $90,000 to $100,000 per annum, with potential increases as you gain experience. This role is Monday to Friday, residential in Kalgoorlie, offering social hours that support work-life balance.
