About the role


Orica is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Mobile Mechanic / Field Support Technician to join our Metals West Asset & Maintenance Team, based out of Kalgoorlie.

This role operates on an 8 days on / 6 days off roster, providing maintenance and technical support across multiple Orica operations in Western Australia. A company vehicle is provided, along with a competitive salary and benefits package.

Reporting to the Orica Asset Supervisor, this role is critical in supporting the reliability and performance of Orica’s mobile and fixed plant equipment across our sites.

What you will be doing

 

  • Maintain and repair mobile and fixed plant equipment
  • Travel between Orica sites to support maintenance and breakdowns
  • Provide hands‑on technical support to site teams
  • Identify and report equipment issues and improvement opportunities
  • Complete maintenance records and follow safety standards

What you will bring

 

  • Trade qualification in Mechanical or Electrical (essential)
  • Dual trade with Auto‑Electrical (desirable)
  • 3+ years post‑trade experience, ideally within mining or heavy industry
  • Exposure to mobile plant, fixed plant, or field service environments
  • HR (Heavy Rigid) licence (advantageous but not essential)
  • Trainer & Assessor qualification (desirable)
