About the role
We are thrilled to announce that Orica Kalgoorlie is expanding! Our business is thriving and we are looking to increase our workforce in our Explosives Reserves Plant. We are seeking Trainee Manufacturing Plant Operators to join our friendly and supportive team.
You will operate both fixed and mobile machinery to produce chemicals and packaging used in the blasting process for mining, quarrying, and infrastructure projects.
It is important to note that we do not necessarily need people with experience in manufacturing plant environments. We are looking for people with energy, drive, enthusiasm and who share the same values as we do. We will offer extensive training for the successful candidates, and provide all the tools needed to spark a brand new career with a truly global market-leading company.
To be considered you must reside in the Kalgoorlie Region (or be willing to relocate at your own cost) and be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Salary/Roster
The starting salary package for Trainee Manufacturing Plant Operators is $105,000 per annum, with level increases as you move through the training program and develop your skill and experience. We offer a Monday to Friday roster with a weekly rotating schedule of morning and afternoon shifts, with the occasional planned Saturday.
What you will be doing
- Safely and efficiently operating equipment, plant and machinery inside our manufacturing plant.
- Assisting with general plant maintenance tasks when required.
- Performing some labour-intensive duties relating to pick and pack production.
- Working within a tight-knit, supportive and inclusive team environment.
- Participating and driving Quality standards, 5S and Continuous Improvement in the workplace
What you will bring
- A positive friendly attitude and a willingness to learn.
- A good level of physical fitness.
- Current C Class driving license.
- A current Forklift license and experience operating (desirable).
- Experience in a manufacturing environment (desirable).
- Previous experience operating a Filipac or Kartridge Pak machinery (highly desirable).
- The ability to pass police checks and a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screen.
- Commitment to working with safety as a priority.
