About the role


We are delighted to announce that we are looking for a Trainee Plant Operator to join our team in our Kalgoorlie Manufacturing Complex. The purpose of this complex is to manufacture Packaged Explosives used in the blasting procedure within the mining and quarrying sectors. 

The position is Monday to Friday with occasional scheduled weekend work with 2 rotating shift structures being morning and afternoons. The successful candidate will be required to live in Kalgoorlie.

What you will be doing

 

  • Work autonomously to ensure manufacturing plant operates efficiently.
  • Perform production and administrative tasks independently.
  • Assist with plant maintenance while strictly following Orica Safety, Health, and Environment guidelines.
  • Receive training in key manufacturing areas.
  • Responsible for diverse tasks including production, maintenance, and administrative duties.
  • Operate critical equipment such as pumps and cartridge machines.
  • Opportunity for cross-training in multiple plants to support production.

What you will bring

 

  • Ability to pass all relevant security checks ( National Police Clearance).
  • A current drivers licence.
  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Trade background would be beneficial but is not essential.
  • Ability to work safely and look out for your teammates.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
