About the role

Are you enthusiastic about technology and curious about how innovation supports modern mining operations? Axis Mining Technology, part of Orica Digital Services, is looking for a Field Support Technician to join our AusPac Regional Operations team based at our Kalgoorlie Service Centre.

This is an entry‑level, residential role designed to develop technical capability over time. While the role will eventually include remote and on‑site field support, the initial focus is office‑ and warehouse‑based, allowing you to build strong product knowledge, operational understanding, and confidence before progressing into more advanced responsibilities. Full training will be provided.

What you will be doing

To begin with, this role is primarily based at our Kalgoorlie Service Centre, supporting day to day operations and the management of Axis Mining Technology’s equipment and data systems.

Your initial responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the management of driller operable technology fleets and cloud based data flow systems
  • Cleaning, inspecting, testing, and calibrating returned equipment to ensure it is ready for redeployment
  • Supporting warehouse and logistics activities, including rental kit preparation and equipment tracking
  • Performing office based administrative duties, such as:
    • Preparing calibration certificates and delivery notes
    • Completing damage reports
    • Asset tracking and record management

Through these core responsibilities, you will develop a strong understanding of our products, systems, and customer workflows.

As your experience and confidence grow, the role will progressively expand to include:

  • Office based remote technical support (phone, text, and email)
  • Customer support and troubleshooting
  • On site client training and technical field support, including travel to remote sites, once fully trained and competent

This structured progression ensures you are well supported as you grow into the full scope of a Field Support Technician.

What you will bring

We are looking for someone at the early stage of their career who is keen to learn and grow. Prior specialist experience is not required, as comprehensive training will be provided.

You will bring:

  • A genuine interest in technology, equipment, and mining operations
  • A willingness to learn technical systems, tools, and processes (including drillhole survey equipment and data workflows)
  • A practical, hands on mindset, with attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility
  • Basic computer literacy and comfort working with digital tools and data
  • Good communication skills and a positive, team oriented attitude
  • A willingness to travel to remote sites in the future as part of your development
  • The ability to work safely, follow procedures, and contribute to a well organised service centre

This role is ideal for local Kalgoorlie residents looking to start a long term career in mining technology and digital services.
