About the role


We are looking for a Maintenance Planner based in Orica’s Kalgoorlie Explosive Reserve. The purpose of this plant is to manufacture the emulsion used in the blasting procedure within the mining and quarrying sectors. This role is reporting to the site Maintenance Superintendent.

The successful candidate will play a key role within the asset management team for the overall accountability of the implementation of the asset management strategy and implementation of engineering & maintenance standards, to ensure the condition, reliability and productive capacity of the Orica Kalgoorlie plant assets in a safe manner, cost effective and systematic manner.

What you will be doing

 

  • Manage all aspects of planning for the maintenance department, including allocation of Preventive Maintenance (PMs) tasks, project tasks, maintenance notification and break down tasks to site maintenance electricians and fitters.
  • Maintain control of ordering and receipting parts, raising POs for contract labour while building a working relationship with contractors and suppliers.
  • Maintain and continuously develop and improve the critical spares list.
  • Ensure employee participation in Orica’s safety programs including Take5, JSERA’s and safe work practices and provide feedback on SHE issues
  • Maintain high SHEC compliance by ensuring adherence to Safe Systems of work, promoting safe behaviours and maintaining the integrity of SHEC engineering controls
  • Continued development of safe working practices to ensure no injury to self or others.

  • This role is ideally suited to individuals with a natural planning instincts, strong administrative skills and an inner drive to get things done safely and on time;
  • Proficient computer skills required, and SAP experience is preferred but not mandatory;
  • Have some understanding of parts and what makes them unique from one another and what role they play in the plant;
  • Possess unquestioned reputation for integrity, ethics, personal values and solid character; and
  • Builds the trust of others both internally and externally.
