About the role

Orica is a global leader in mining and blasting solutions, and our Data, Analytics & AI team is building the digital foundations that support Orica’s global operations. We’re looking for a Test Automation & Cloud Infrastructure Specialist who can help us create reliable, scalable, and automated cloud environments that power our data and analytics products.

As a Test Automation & Cloud Infrastructure Specialist, you will work at the intersection of test automation, DevOps, and cloud platform engineering. Your job is to make sure that Orica’s data and analytics products run on secure, stable, and fully automated cloud environments — while ensuring that every product meets the highest quality standards before it reaches users.

This is a hands-on engineering role where you will design automation frameworks, build cloud infrastructure using IaC, strengthen CI/CD pipelines, and support the systems that keep Orica’s data platform running smoothly.

What you will be doing

• Build automated testing frameworks to remove manual QA bottlenecks and ensure high product quality.
• Create and manage cloud infrastructure using IaC (Terraform) to support scalable, secure environments.
• Enhance CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing, deployment, and smooth releases.
• Implement monitoring and observability to detect issues early and maintain platform reliability.
• Collaborate with engineering, BI, cybersecurity, and platform teams to deliver integrated, high‑quality solutions.
• Support the full product lifecycle from design to testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
• Contribute to platform governance and standards aligned with Orica’s architecture, security, and IT guidelines.
• Drive innovation by recommending new tools, automation practices, and improvements to platform workflows.

What you will bring

• Strong coding skills in Terraform, Python, and SQL
• 10+ years in IT, with experience in multiple areas such as:
  • SAP, Data Management, ETL, Data Analytics, Data Visualisation, Data Warehousing, Cloud Data Services, API Management
• Experience working in global organisations using Agile and DevOps
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, or SAP cloud environments)
• Strong problem‑solving and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work with multi‑sourced teams (contractors, vendors, internal teams)
• Excellent communication skills with technical and non‑technical stakeholders
• Initiative and the ability to anticipate problems before they occur
