About the role


As the Manager – Marketing, IS/EBS for our Asia business, your skills and experience are essential to delivering Strategic Marketing outcomes across our conventional Initiating Systems (IS) & Electronic Blasting Systems (EBS) portfolio, and new technology solutions. Your role will be responsible for managing the development and implementation of effective strategy to provide sustainable competitive advantage, maximizing the growth and long-term profitability of the IS/EBS portfolio. Your ability to provide product management support to customer-facing and commercial teams, analyze market activity and positively impact category profitability will be key to success in this role. As a member of our dynamic, high performing Asia Marketing team, you will partner with cross functional regional teams in Commercial, Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, Finance & Supply Chain, along with regular touchpoints in to Global Marketing and Technology Commercialization, to deliver successful product and service outcomes for our customers.

What you will be doing

 

  • Support the development and execution of regional product strategy to optimise the profitability of the Asia business; 
  • Drive strategic marketing through understanding product trends in key markets, NBA analyses and identifying points of differentiation to create customer value; 
  • Generate category insights to aid commercial decision making; 
  • For new product go-to market, develop market segmentation models, positioning value propositions to enhance growth and aid commercial teams with quantification & articulation of customer value; 
  • Oversee the development, maintenance, governance and communication of the IS & EBS pricing policies; 
  • Support the region in the preparation and review of bid pricing and position papers; 
  • Manage interactions that require product expertise or technical support;  
  • Ensure the portfolio is managed and developed in line with the strategic intent of the business; 
  • Provide strategic direction to ensure alignment between the product sales targets within the five year plan and manufacturing / demand planning; 
  • Drive adherence to product stewardship principles i.e. effective change management & product development processes are followed, product application recommendations are appropriate and meet product intent; 
  • Manage the portfolio to required Orica and external regulatory standards.

What you will bring

 

  • Role ideally suited to individuals with 10+ years’ work experience, within Mining, Oil & Gas, Industrial and other relevant B2B markets;  
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, business, economics, finance, science or equivalent; 
  • Proven experience working with and influencing executive leadership and cross-functional teams, leading cross-functional projects from conception to completion; 
  • A willingness to challenge the status quo, learn new knowledge domains quickly, and socialise different approaches and points of view;  
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills;  
  • Able to build structure in ambiguous situations and establish best practices.
