About the role


Orica is seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner to provide strategic financial leadership across its India Commercial, Manufacturing, and Supply operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring financial accuracy, strengthening cost discipline, and supporting critical operational decision‑making across the business.

You will play a central role in shaping financial performance by generating insightful analyses, ensuring governance over cost management, and enabling informed, high-quality decisions at all levels. This position also involves regular interaction with senior stakeholders and contributes directly to achieving Orica’s operational and financial objectives. In addition, the role requires team management capability — someone who can lead, guide, and develop a small finance team while ensuring consistent delivery of high‑quality outputs that support the India business.

What you will be doing

 

  • Lead monthly reporting, mid‑month estimates, forecasts, and annual budgets with accuracy and insight.
  • Lead and develop a finance team, ensuring capability growth, accountability, and high‑quality deliverables.
  • Partner with Commercial, Manufacturing, Supply, and functional leaders to guide decisions through financial analysis.
  • Monitor fixed costs, analyse cost drivers, and ensure strong cost control and timely corrective actions.
  • Build and validate financial models for CAPEX, business cases, and commercial proposals aligned with Group standards.
  • Review bid models to ensure commercial accuracy and alignment with profitability goals.
  • Support working capital management and maintain strong cash discipline.
  • Provide financial insight to projects and business improvement initiatives.
  • Strengthen financial capability by educating stakeholders on systems, cost drivers, and performance metrics.

What you will bring

 

  • CA qualification preferred
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant post‑qualification experience
  • Strong Excel and financial modelling capability
  • SAP/ERP experience preferred
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑influence skills
  • Team leadership and people management capability
