About the role
This role delivers the financial accounting function for the operating entities (Regional role), ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and Orica’s financial controls and standards. The role also ensures statutory compliance at a county (Regional role) and provides support to the Controller – Finance
What you will be doing
- Perform allocated month end processes and procedures in a timely and accurate manner
- Monitor and comply with month end timetable.
- Comply with accounting standards and Orica accounting policies
- Prepare / Review reconciliations for manual accounts including substantiation of reconciling items
- Contribute to the delivery of timely and useful information and financial advice to enable the achievement of Orica’s strategic plan
- Proactively assist the business monitor and action key reconciliations such as assets under construction and construction accounting
- Ensure stakeholder needs against agreed SLAs are met
- Support of any finance projects, cost savings initiatives or benefits programs, or ad hoc tasks as directed
- Provide finance support to group or support functions as required
- Process invoices for vendors, taxes and employee expenses
- Act as a peer back-up for meetings, reporting and day to day activities.
- Coordinate approvals required for invoice processing and expense reimbursements
- Analysis and recording of data in system related to accounts payable record keeping
- Respond to AP inquiries from internal and external stakeholders
- Process IDPMS and EDPMS related documentation and coordinates with the Bank accordingly.
- Prepare business unit financial statements - business unit B/S, P&L, Cash Flow and consolidation of financial statements.
- Prepare trial balance and issue other nominated financial and management reports
- Prepare half-yearly audit packs, ensuring they are complete, accurate and issued within agreed timeframe
- Participate in internal and external audit as required
- Assist with the preparation of the Balance Sheet Review template as required
- Assist with Asset verification process as required
- Compliance with relevant Orica standards, Segregation of Duties and Orica’s financial authority limits.
- Compliance with all tax, treasury, statutory and financial policies
- Contact for External auditing requirements
What you will bring
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or Business discipline
- Professional designation - CA Inter Passed is preferred. Experience in a large, global business in a similar role
- 5 years post graduate experience in accounting or finance (or related discipline) • Technical accounting knowledge
- Experience of IDPMS and EDPMS
- SAP and Excel and financial modelling skills
- Possess reputation for integrity, ethics, personal values and solid character
