About the role

At Orica, we’re powering the future of mining through smarter technology, world‑class engineering, and data‑driven innovation. We’re now hiring an AI Project Delivery Manager who will lead the delivery of meaningful AI, Analytics, and Reporting projects across our global business.

 

In this role, you’ll help turn business needs into real solutions, guide a talented data and AI delivery team, and make sure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and with high quality. You’ll work closely with teams across Data, Analytics, AI Engineering, SAP, and business stakeholders to design, build, and support solutions that make a real impact.

What you will be doing

  • Build project plans, manage timelines, budgets, and resources.
  • Run Agile ceremonies and ensure continuous delivery.
  • Manage cross‑functional delivery teams and stakeholders across functions and regions.
  • Review solution designs and ensure adherence to Orica’s standards.
  • Translate business requirements into data and technical specifications.
  • Support deployments, testing, and solution rollout strategies.
  • Resolve incidents, manage escalations, and ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Lead the AI, Data & Reporting Community of Practice.
  • Stay ahead of new technologies in AI, Data, Analytics, and Reporting.

What you will bring

Must‑have experience:

  • 10+ years in business‑facing technology roles in complex global environments.
  • 5+ years managing data and reporting functions.
  • Familiarity with data extraction, transformation tools, and SAP data sourcing.
  • Hands‑on Power BI experience.
  • Experience leading workshops and executive discussions.
  • Strong customer engagement and relationship‑building skills.
  • Strong problem‑solving, risk mitigation, and communication skills.
  • Experience delivering analytics using Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to translate complex business needs into effective solutions.

Preferred:

  • Degree in Data Science, ML, Statistics, IT, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of S/4HANA data structures.
  • Power BI Data Analyst Associate Certification.
  • Exposure to Azure ML, Google Vertex, Databricks.
