About the role

An exciting opportunity awaits for a Production Superintendent to join our Orica Helidon team. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in dynamic environments, enjoys bringing people together, and is motivated by creating safe, high‑performing workplaces.

 

As a key leader on-site, you'll play an essential role in ensuring we produce high‑quality products safely, efficiently, and in line with customer needs. You’ll have the opportunity to influence culture, champion continuous improvement, and help shape a positive, supportive environment where everyone can do their best work.

What you will be doing

 

  • Leading daily, weekly, and monthly production activities to meet quality, safety, and delivery expectations;
  • Championing SHES standards, driving a positive safety culture, and guiding incident investigations;
  • Coaching and developing your team, fostering a respectful, inclusive, and high‑accountability workplace;
  • Collaborating across site teams (planning, training, maintenance) to ensure smooth and aligned operations;
  • Identifying and implementing continuous improvement and lean initiatives to boost efficiency and performance;
  • Supporting accurate SAP master data, documentation, and work instruction improvements.

What you will bring

  • Experience managing diverse stakeholders in a fast‑paced operational environment;
  • Proven ability to implement improvement initiatives or support continuous improvement efforts;
  • Commitment to safe work practices and experience upholding SHES standards;
  • Resilience, adaptability, and openness to feedback—qualities that help you lead with empathy and confidence;
  • Bonus: Manufacturing, LEAN/CI, or explosives industry experience (not essential, your leadership mindset matters most).
