About the role

 

The team at Helidon is currently looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Specialist.

 

The Helidon site operates two manufacturing facilities, a detonator assembly plant and a shock tube extrusion plant. This role will be involved in both plants. There is a high degree of automation in the plants that requires an aptitude for equipment. Creating new versions of quality products is what we do.

 

We are looking for someone who is serious about safety and is driven by data. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be the subject matter expert when it comes to ensuring good quality raw materials are entering the processes.  This involves collaboration with suppliers and procurement teams. You will have a knack for development and identifying opportunities for improvement as well as delivering value to the customer.

 

We are always forward thinking in the way we work, we want to see someone who has a knowledge of lean principles and their application to continuously improve. 

What you will be doing

 

  • Provides QA/QC subject matter expertise to ensure product compliance;
  • Applies advanced engineering and statistical techniques for process control;
  • Drives process improvements in safety, quality, cost, delivery, and productivity;
  • Ensures site QMS aligns with ISO 9001 and One Manufacturing standards; and
  • Supports value-driven quality systems across the plant.
 

What you will bring

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science with several years’ experience in a manufacturing industry environment (Essential);
  • An understanding of ISO9001 and auditor qualifications and Experience in auditing;
  • Experience in lean, project planning, structured problem solving and liaising with process experts to develop solutions;
  • Minitab experience or Advanced levels with MS Excel;
  • Knowledge of systems and their documentation;
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously;
  • Ability to deliver on project requirements;
  • High attention to detail; and
  • Experience in auditing.
