About the role
As Senior Specialist SHES at our Helidon site, you’ll partner with site leaders to drive excellence in Safety, Health, Environment, and Security (SHES). You’ll lead risk management initiatives, coach teams on standards and governance, and foster a strong safety culture.
This is a 6-month fixed term position to cover an extended leave period.
What you will be doing
- Championing Orica’s Charter Values, Purpose, and Strategy.
- Building strong relationships with site leaders to deliver SHES objectives.
- Coaching and mentoring line managers in SHES practices and programs.
- Providing technical advice and support on SHES matters.
- Implementing and monitoring SHES standards and systems.
- Conducting incident investigations, inspections, and SHES assurance activities.
- Leading SHES improvement initiatives with structured rollout plans.
- Liaising with regulatory authorities on SHES matters.
- Actively contributing to the Helidon Site Leadership Team and strategic planning.
What you will bring
- Formal qualifications in Safety, Health, Engineering, or Science.
- Experience in SHES within manufacturing, resources, distribution, or heavy industry.
- A demonstrated track record of implementing SHES standards and risk programs.
- Experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
- The ability to deliver consistent SHES improvements and assurance activities.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, risk management, and systems.
- Highly developed communication and influencing skills across diverse stakeholders.
- Trusted, ethical, and values-driven professional.
- Team-oriented, self-aware, and open to feedback.
