About the role

We are seeking a dynamic and seasoned Manufacturing Centre Manager to lead our Helidon site in Toowomba. As a pivotal member of the global Discrete Manufacturing Leadership team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient production of electronic blasting systems, vital for heavy infrastructure and mining projects in Australia and beyond.

What you will be doing

  • Safety is Our Priority, Always: Cultivate a safety-first culture, ensuring all manufacturing activities adhere to the highest safety standards.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee and optimize manufacturing operations, ensuring quality and production targets are met.
  • Team Leadership: Lead the development of the onsite team of 150+, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives for operational efficiency and sustainability.

What you will bring

  • Safety Leadership: Proven ability to prioritize and champion a safety culture, adhering to protocols and standards.
  • Operational Excellence: Strong background in managing manufacturing, process optimization, and meeting production goals.
  • Leadership and Team Management: 7-10 years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, ideally within chemical manufacturing.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Profound knowledge of relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations, with a track record of ensuring compliance.
  • Financial Acumen: Proficiency in budget management, cost control, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Demonstrated experience driving operational efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Strong interpersonal and communication skills for building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to contribute to the long-term strategic plan and execute it effectively.
  • Community Engagement & Sustainability: Proficient in community engagement and corporate social responsibility, dedicated to integrating sustainability principles into operations.
  • Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Business Management, or a related field; a master's degree in a relevant discipline is preferred.
