About The Role - Quality Control Inspector (Hanwell NB)
We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Quality Control Inspector within our Orica Digital Solutions division.
The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for performing inspections throughout different stages in product development and production. This role requires the physical inspection of materials and products, and a strict adherence to company procedures and standards. Quality Control Inspectors interact with all relevant departments to ensure continual compliance with all requirements.
What you will be doing
- Perform Incoming inspections of vendor materials to ensure quality standards and contractual obligations are met
- Perform First Article inspections for all new out-sourced products and materials
- Perform In-Process inspections of sub-assemblies and processes by conducting visual inspections, electrical and/or mechanical tests and communicating results as applies
- Participate in select Final Product verifications and/or product simulations per requirements.
- Participate in the handling of Customer (or External Providers) property
- Participate in key areas such as supplier monitoring and measurement, calibration programs, quarantine, control on nonconforming material, etc.
- Participate in product development process and contribute to the continual improvement process.
- Contribute to reports and help maintain verification records.
- Communicate across company departments specifically working with production and shipping to ensure product quality standards are satisfied and sales timelines are met.
- Participate in the receipt, inspection and handling of any returned company product
- Engage in procedure development and improvement of existing procedures when needed
- Assist as needed with internal/external audit for ISO 9001-2015
- Co-operate with government agencies during inspections in order to meet and maintain high production standards
- Work with the management and production staff to ensure that only quality products are produced
- Ensure that no expired raw material is used for production
- Adhere to all quality, safety, regulatory and statutory standards of the company.

What you will bring
- Experience working collaboratively as a member of a multi-discipline team
- Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task in order to meet changing demands
- Proficient data entry and computer skills required
- Highly organized and able to follow detailed procedures
- Keen eye for detail and patience to perform repetitive tasks
- Experience operating a hoist crane is an asset
- Physical requirements include: standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 20kg
Additional Skills
Additional Skills (we will train you)
- Working knowledge of inspection and measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, multimeters, etc.)
- Working knowledge or familiarity with ISO 9001:2015
- Working knowledge or familiarity with associated standards (IPC, UL, CSA, AWS, EN, etc)
- Working knowledge or familiarity with ISPM-15, D-13-01 (Heat Treat Lumber requirements)
- Good analytical and mathematical skills
- Working knowledge of one of the following ASQ designations: CQIA, CSSYB, CQPA, CQI, CSQP, etc.
Your qualifications
- Secondary (high school) Diploma with basic understanding in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Electronic preferred
- 2-3 years experience working in quality control with specific focus on machined parts, printed circuit boards and/or printed circuit assemblies

Compensation
Salary $42,675 – $51,000.00 CAD.
(Salary to be determined by the applicant’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
