About the role

Offers specialized support in developing and executing the procurement strategy, ensuring all purchases adhere to policies and standard procurement processes, including the proper use of supporting systems like SAP, ARIBA etc. Provides subject matter expertise on procurement matters and assists in the development and implementation of the sourcing and category strategy, executing according to plan and tracking/measuring the results.

What you will be doing

  • Analyses data and engage stakeholders (internal and external) to quantify and validate opportunities and risks.
  • Conducts analysis of spend to understand business trends and opportunities to improve procurement effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Tracks and progresses against the strategic category plans and procurement targets
  • Supports leadership team to develop executive papers, contracts and stakeholder business cases for strategic initiatives
  • Assists Supplier Performance Management
  • Leads specific projects across the procurement team
  • Maintains accurate database of suppliers, Quotations, Approval note, execution dates and key stakeholders
  • Works as a team with Projects, Maintenance, Tax & Finance to adhere the Goals/KPIs
  • Operationalizes the global strategy within the Region and site teams
  • Identifies opportunities and implement initiatives to maximize the effectiveness of the sourcing strategy with respect to capital expenditure, sustenance capital and operating expenditure across the region.
  • Ensures compliance with Orica’s SHES and Procurement policy and governance including in utilizing preferred suppliers list.
  • Improves overall regional competitiveness by reducing Total Cost of Ownership while at the same time ensuring security of supply and reliability.
  • Fosters an environment of working together with Orica key stakeholders’ functions to deliver the best overall outcome for the business.
  • Drives continuous improvement and innovation solutions with key suppliers.

What you will bring

 

  • A full-time bachelor's degree in engineering from a premium institute, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Expertise in Purchase Orders, Supplier Evaluation, and Contract Negotiation within Capex & MRO spend.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in S2P2P processes.
  • Familiarity with imports and shipping/customs documentation.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills within cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in the chemical/explosive manufacturing industry is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in SAP (S4 HANA is a plus) and Ariba.
