About the role

We are currently seeking a Specialist - Learning to join our Manufacturing Centre in Gomia, Jharkhand.

This is a highly visible role responsible for driving workforce capability, learning effectiveness and competency development across one of Orica's key manufacturing operations. Working closely with Operations, Maintenance, Technical, SHES and functional leaders, you will design, coordinate and deliver learning initiatives that strengthen workforce capability, support operational excellence and maintain compliance with statutory and safety requirements.

What you will be doing

 

  • Lead site-wide learning, training and workforce capability initiatives.
  • Conduct learning needs analyses and partner with leaders to identify capability gaps.
  • Develop and implement annual training plans aligned with operational and business priorities.
  • Coordinate mandatory compliance, statutory, safety and technical training programs.
  • Facilitate engaging learning workshops, capability-building sessions and development programs.
  • Maintain competency matrices, training records and workforce capability frameworks.
  • Monitor training effectiveness through assessments, feedback and performance metrics.
  • Support employee, contractor and new starter onboarding programs.
  • Partner with business leaders to develop technical, operational and leadership development pathways.
  • Drive continuous improvement across learning systems, processes and delivery methods.
  • Support succession planning and long-term workforce capability development initiatives.

What you will bring

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Learning & Development, Psychology, Education, Business Administration or related discipline.
  • Experience in Learning & Development, Training Coordination, Workforce Capability or similar roles.
  • Experience within manufacturing, mining, chemicals, industrial operations, heavy industry or comparable environments.
  • Strong facilitation, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience developing training plans, competency frameworks and learning programs.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and build strong working relationships across all levels.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and relationship management skills.

Highly regarded:

  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital learning platforms.
  • Exposure to competency-based learning frameworks.
  • Knowledge of statutory training requirements in industrial environments.
  • Certification in Learning & Development, Training, Facilitation or Coaching.
  • Experience supporting leadership development and succession planning initiatives.
