About the role
The Asset Management function supports Orica’s business units and brings together all elements of the asset life cycle into a single integrated group to achieve better business outcomes. The project management office (PMO) exists within Asset Management and provides project-related services to Orica’s business units. The PMO’s mandate includes the management and delivery of the manufacturing project portfolio. The organisational structure includes Programme Managers who are accountable for programme performance, project performance and delivery success in their site/region. This includes close liaison with Manufacturing Centre Manager/site managers/Asset Owners and representatives, resource management, scheduling, cost management, compliance with mandates/standards, safety, reporting and contract administration.
· Role purpose: Management of the capital project programme across discrete manufacturing (DM) sites that belong to Gomia manufacturing centre in the Asia region.
· Establish, balance, monitor, and control the DM projects to support the Asset Owner(s) and achieve their business objectives.
· Manage project teams.
· Compliance with Orica project and programme governance requirements
What you will be doing
The Programme role uses knowledge, experience, and leadership effectively to align the programme’s approach with the organisation’s strategy, improve the delivery of programme benefits, enhance collaboration with stakeholders, and manage the programme lifecycle. Specifically, this includes:
· Serve as primary point of contact for the Asset Owner for the assigned programme, developing strong relationships and managing
· stakeholder expectations.
· Alignment and governance of the projects at Orica’s Gomia, Limay and other Initiating Systems and Packaged Emulsion manufacturing sites in Asia region.
· Liaise with the Operations, Engineering and Maintenance teams to ensure projects achieve the required business objectives.
· Lead the planning and implementation of projects. Monitor, document and report to key stakeholders on the progress and performance of projects within the programme.
· Ensure conformance to Orica SHES standards
· Manage the Manufacturing Centre’s PMO’s fixed cost budget including reporting and corrective actions.
· Strong execution focus. Proven ability to work autonomously and lead cross-functional and multi-disciplinary project teams.
· Commercial acumen in the development of cost effective and robust project delivery and engineering solutions to meet stakeholder requirements.
· Management of supplier/contractual relationships.
· Effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills with emphasis on effective teamwork and personnel development.
· Experience in working across diverse geographies and cultures.
· Ensure project team is appropriately trained in project management principles and Orica governance processes.
· Compliance with project governance processes and procedures, ensuring that they are applied universally across the programme.
· Actively contribute to continuous improvement processes within the PMO.
· Support PMO’s Major Projects team on key projects when availability permits.
What you will bring
• Degree in an engineering discipline preferably in Chemical or mechanical engineering.
• 15-20 years in the management of capital projects in the petrochemical, manufacturing, or minerals processing.
• Post graduate qualifications in a programme/project management, or other relevant discipline.
• Project Management Certification would be an asset.
• Fluency in SAP portfolio management
