About the role
Orica is looking for an Electrical Project Engineer to support the safe and efficient delivery of our plant projects in Gomia.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both design work and hands‑on site execution, and wants to contribute to reliable operations in a chemical/process plant environment.
You will be involved in greenfield (new build) and brownfield (plant upgrades) projects, ensuring that all electrical systems are designed, reviewed, installed, and commissioned to Orica’s standards.

What you will be doing
- Design & Review: Prepare and review electrical engineering designs and specifications.
- Project Execution: Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.
- Issue Resolution: Solve on‑site technical bottlenecks through root cause analysis.
- Quality & Compliance: Validate contractor/OEM work and ensure compliance with Orica standards.
- Documentation: Maintain drawings, manuals, and procedures in the DMS.
- Coordination: Work effectively with cross‑functional teams and multiple contractors.
- Support & Improvement: Provide engineering support to brownfield/minor projects and help upskill technicians.
What you will bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 5–8 years’ experience in a chemical or process industry
- Strong skills in electrical system design, review, and optimization
- Experience with root cause analysis
- Basic understanding of instrumentation, automation, and electro‑pneumatics
- Familiarity with engineering tools and standard office software
- SAP experience is an advantage
