About the role
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the operational integrity of our plant and equipment to ensure maximum availability and efficiency. This opportunity is perfect for someone with strong strategic influencing skills and the ability to develop others.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to make decisions, cope with pressure and setbacks, and demonstrate strong safety leadership. This role is crucial in supporting our production targets and maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
What you will be doing
- Schedule servicing, repairs, alterations, and breakdown maintenance.
- Ensure the maintenance of MMUs and fixed plant conforms to SAP.
- Know and adhere to relevant procedures, statutory requirements, and codes.
- Continually reassess risks associated with regional operation and maintenance processes, taking appropriate corrective action as required.
- Mentor staff and local service contractors in the support of Orica’s operations.
- Support local area Field Support Technician.
- Provide onsite and phone-based technical support.
- Assist Asset Lead, Maintenance Supervisor, and Territory Managers as required.
- Provide feedback to Asset Lead on common mode failures and communicate appropriate actions.
- Compile alerts and bulletins for continuous improvement and corrective action tasks.
What you will bring
- Trade Certificate - Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical (Heavy Road Transport).
- Practical knowledge of plant equipment used in the manufacturing and delivery of explosives (e.g., MMUs, augers, and pumps).
- Experience in mechanical fitting, maintenance, and repairs of heavy equipment, fixed plant, or mobile assets.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, mining, or heavy industrial environment.
- Hands-on experience with preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Experience with asset management systems (e.g., SAP, Pronto, or similar CMMS tools) is a plus
- Qualified for Permit to Work.
- Good understanding of Mining Safety Management System Aspect by always prioritizing Safety Value.
