About the role

 

We are delighted to announce an exciting opportunity for a Driver – Explosives to join our team at the Ashyktas Project in Kazakhstan. Reporting to the Site Supervisor, this role operates on a rotational work schedule and is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of explosive products to Orica facilities and customer sites. You will ensure the secure handling, delivery, and documentation of explosive materials while maintaining the delivery vehicle in a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible condition at all times.

What you will be doing

 

• Safely transport explosive products and related materials to Orica manufacturing plants, customer service depots, and customer on-site magazines in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct pre-operational inspections, routine maintenance checks, and basic vehicle upkeep to ensure roadworthiness and operational reliability.
• Adhere to all safety, security, environmental, and transport regulations governing the handling and delivery of explosives and dangerous goods.
• Complete delivery documentation, vehicle logs, and compliance records accurately and in a timely manner.
• Build positive working relationships with customers, site personnel, and internal stakeholders while maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach.

What you will bring

 

• Valid driving licence with the appropriate category for operating heavy vehicles and transporting dangerous goods.
• Previous experience in transportation, logistics, mining, explosives, or hazardous materials handling environments.
• Strong commitment to safety, compliance, and environmental stewardship, with a proactive approach to risk management.
• Ability to work independently in remote operational environments while maintaining high standards of performance and reliability.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to follow procedures and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
